Let´s Get Country

lördag 29 september 2012

Hi there! I hope you have a nice weekend!
Lisa from Our Creative Corner asked me a few weeks ago if I wanted to be this week's guest designer, and I said YES of course.
But I had to struggle with this week's challenge, I must admit.

This weeks theme is Let´s Get Country with a photo for inspiration and to use plaid, such as in ribbon or designer paper. In the end I decided for a country/western themed card.
I had a hard time finding plaid paper/ribbon, I had no at home and could not find anything in my local scrapbooking store. So in the end I had to take the most similar I had at home to my card.

For the shipboard stars I first heat embossed them with gold embossing pouder. Then I dabbed them with black archival ink, then I painted them with picket fence crackle paint to get the right look of rusty gold.

I think you already know the man in the picture, Johnny Cash that has touched many hearts with his life and his songs.
I hope you will play along too, check out what the talanted design team over at Our Creative Corner have to show you.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!
Hugs, Birgit

Lots Of Layers

tisdag 25 september 2012

***I have two posts today. If you missed my post for Tuesday Throwdown, please click Here. Thank you.***
Welcome back to my second post as guest designer this mounth for Try It On Tuesday. It´s time for a new challenge and the theme this fortnight is "Lots of layers". Here is my take on it.
If you have not done it yet, drop in on this month's sponsor Smudgetastic Digis.

I have used a stamp from Crafty Individuals that I stamped and heat embossed in two copies, then I cut out the car from one of them and placed over the other with adhesive mounts to get a 3-D effect.
But before I addhered the car on top I had painted the bottom image with Distress Markers.

For the resist canvas, I used some Dylusions sprays, it got so lovely autumn colors I think.
I experimented a lot with the diecut before I was happy with it. I think I used alcohol ink, Distress ink,  Acrylic paint and I do not remember what more...:)

The paper are from Fabscraps, and the Tim Holtz sentiment was stamped directly on embroidery linen and then stitched on to the card.
Since I had thought this card would be to a man, I have not added so much more than all the layers, I think that's enough.

Now I hope you stop over at Try It On Tuesday to check out what the other designers have made.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Hugs, Birgit

My Healthy Gnome

***I have two posts today. If you missed my post for Try It On Tuesday, please click Here. Thank you.***
I´m back again with my last project as guest designer for Tuesday Throwdown. I have had so much fun with the images I got to work with, and this week the sponsor is My Grafico a leading digital online store.

The challenge this week is "Fall colors". For my card I used some Dylusions sprays, stencils and stamps. And of course the tree and flower from My Grafico that I colored with Copics and then cut out by hand and added to my card.

I got the gnome from Freubel, and he´s also cut out. The sentiment was written on my old typewriter that still works. Great quality on the old stuff!
I stitched a ribbon at the bottom and added a few Paper pen dots in the middle of the flower.
Oh, I almost forgotten the apple which I made myself, and then gave a layer glossy accents.

That´s it! If you wonders what it says on the inside, it is ...it can go just as well with pancakes.
And then a little reminder that the calories that you eat on your birthday does not count:)
Pleace be sure to visit the DT members for more inspiration over at Tuesday Throwdown.
As always thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs, Birgit.

Christmas Card

söndag 23 september 2012

Hello friends!
I hope you have a great weekend weather you will be crafting or just spend some time outside enjoying some of the lovely autumn air .
Today I can share a new Christmas card. I combined a couple of the new 6x6 papers from the Inkido Coming Home For Christmas collection.

I decorated my card with a wide satin ribbon, some flowers, lace and a lot of Star Dust Stickles.
I think it becomes so nice with glitter to Christmas cards.

I first painted the chipboard star with white crackle paint, and then directly before the paint being dry I sprinkled over glitter.

Here is a peek on the inside.

Thanks so much för visiting! Hope you enjoyed my Christmas card, I promise that there will be many more.
Hugs, Birgit

Home Baked Only For You

tisdag 18 september 2012

Hello friends! Welcome and thanks for stopping by.
I´m back after a super busy weekend, I have not been able to find a single minute so I could sneak off to create something.
It´s time for my third week as a guest designer for Tuesday Throwdown, and this week My Creative Classroom are sponsoring the challenge which has a cutting corners theme for us to follow. One lucky winner will receive a free seat to a class of their choice.

Here´s my take on it, and I have altered a gift box. I used the wonderful Romantic Collection papers from Prima, and metal corners that I first thought about doing something different with, but decided not to do it, I actually like them the way they are.

I had planned to fill it with some good chocolate, but the time ran away so I had to take what I had, and that is a BIG muffin.

The sentiment from Rox Stamps was stamped with coffee archival ink.

The chipboard bird was first painted with alcohol ink, then I mixed clear embossing pouder and a little glitter, then I heated in. For a rougher look I painted with white acrylic paint and then sanded the edges.

Chitchat words from Tim Holtz was adhered around the box lid, and that´s about it I think.
I hope you will play along in this cutting corner challenge, pleace visit them here.
Have a great day!
Hugs, Birgit

Make It Monday - Anything Goes

Invitations

fredag 14 september 2012

Good morning friends! I´m back today to share with you something I don´t do so often.
I was asked if I could make some invitations to a dinner, she who ordered them wanted it to be simple cards.

I thought it might be great with a little brown fall colors this time of year. The flower is made with a Prim Poppy die from Memory Box, and the text is made on my computer.
Thats it for me this week.
Hugs, Birgit

I enter these cards in the following Challenges:
Bearly Mine - Anything Goes
Deep Oscean Challenge - Goodbye Summer

Only For You

tisdag 11 september 2012

Hi there sweet blogging friends!
***I have two posts today. If you missed my post for Tuesday Throwdown, please click HERE. Thank you.***
So glad you stopped by today:) A few weeks ago I was asked by Angela from Try It On Tuesday if I wanted to be a guest designer for September, and I wanted, of course!
This fortnight theme is an Anything Goes challenge, so welcome with any project you have.

The sponsor for this month are Smudgetastic Digis and the lucky winner will receive 3 free digi´s.

Myself I have done a muffin easel card. I think that the image, which is a free digi from Sliekje Stamps are perfect for this card. Isn´t the mouse cute!
You have a template here for the muffin, but I had to cut it down a bit to get it right.

I used some old papers from Panduro and white corrugated cardboard that I sponged with black distress ink.
After I had colored the image with Copics, I just added Glossy Accents and some pearls. It was cut and embossed with the largest Floral Doily Motifs Shapeabilities die.
At the bottom of my card I added Venice Lace trim from The Funkie Junkie´s Boutique, I love it.
And finally, best of all, a small tag with a muffin recipe.

I hope you have time to create a card, or something else for the challenge! And check out my challenge members gorgeous creations at Try It On Tuesday.
Hugs, Birgit

 Hi there sweet blogging friends!
***I have two posts today. If you missed my post for Try It On Tuesday, please click HERE. Thank you.***
Welcome to my second week as Guest Designer for Tuesday Throwdown. This week they wants us to Use Gems.

Sponsor to this weeks challenge is My Heart Pieces, and the lucky winner will receive 3 images of their choice.

For today´s project I chose to focus on the colors as we head towards the fall and I wanted to use some warm colors to my image from My Heart Pieces.
After coloring I cut and embossed with one Label Eight Nestabilities die, it was stitched to a slightly bigger piece of grey cardstock.
I added blue Gems, Stickles, Glossy Accents and Paper Pen dots.

Kaiser Craft patterned papers from the Sweet Nothing Collection was used. I made three blossoms using a Memory Box Small Pinwheel Posie die and added a pearl in the center.

Parts of green prisma leaves, some old white tulle hearts and paper ribbons was added.
The sentiment was cut out from a piece of Prima paper. I added a metal corner on top and finished of with a few more gems at the bottom. That´s about it I think.
Please be sure to visit the Tuesday Throwdown site for more inspiration.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have great day!
